The Core Information
Nestled in the Holme Valley lies The Pure North Cider Press. Producing the finest natural cider from a blend of traditional cider apples. Fermented naturally and full of anti-oxidants, our ciders are lovingly nurtured, pressed by hand and delivered with care.
- Our apples are picked and processed on site.
- We use a carefully chosen blend of cider apples and we feel this gives the cider a better flavour.
- Our cider can be cloudy – that’s because it is naturally produced and full of goodness.
- The apple orchard at Pure North has been prepared and newly planted to produce the very best cider apples.
During 2012 we will be expanding our range of ciders to include dry, bottle conditioned champagne style ciders and oak aged ciders. In addition we will be offering pure apple and pear juice fresh pressed and flash pasturised.
The Pure North Mission Statement
To build on our heritage, enhance our quality products, our people and our processes for the benefit of our customers and our company.
The name ‘Pure North Cider and Juice Company’ encapsulates our mission which is to produce a range of excellent ciders, apple juices and hedgerow fruit drinks which are made in keeping with tradition.
All of our trees are chemical free with no spraying. Most of all we wanted to use the land we are fortunate to have and produce things that the North Family and the wider community can be proud of.
Maximising Sustainability and Minimising Waste
Here at New Laithe Farm we have done our upmost to utilise green energy with a wind turbine providing electricity and a water source heat pump providing hot water and heating.
The process we use for cider and juice production involves little or no waste with the pulp that is left after pressing being used as feed by local pig farmers.
So far we have planted 250 trees with a further 60 planned for this winter, no chemicals are used in the orchard.
